It is believed that the Kidd family name is derived from Arbroath in the County of Angus and the first people to adopt the name were the Strathclyde-Britons of Scotland. The first name of this type which was recorded was 1357, and the initial name of the family was Robertus Kyd, de Dundee. A famous Kidd who is in the region can be identified as William Kidd, also known as Captain Kidd, who was born in 1654 in Dundee. The roots of the Tartan are traced back to 1819 when it was called Caledonia as well as MacPherson. The Tartan was primarily sold to a dealer called Kidd who was located in Angus. Kidd Ancient Tartan fabric by the meter is made from 100% pure new wool and proudly woven in Scotland. The color of this tartan includes Red, Green, White, Yellow, and Black.
