Both were in favor of Alexander Duff, 6th Earl Fife. The Duke of Fife was the spouse of Louise Princess Royal and was the third and eldest child from King Edward VII and Alexandra of Denmark. The current Duke of Fife is female-lined great grandchild from Edward VII and a member of the extended British Royal Family.
