The MacEwan Clan is a historic Scottish clan that hails from Cowal, in Argyll, Scotland. Its name derives from the Gaelic "Maceoghainn," meaning "son of Eoghainn," and traces its roots back to the 11th century. Claiming descent from Anradan, an Irish king, the MacEwans share a lineage with clans like the Lamonts, MacLachlans, and MacNeils. These clans occupied the fertile lands along Loch Fyne and were known for their fierce resilience in conflicts with neighboring groups, yet they maintained a respected status in the region. The clan's mottos, "Reviresco" (I grow strong again) and "Dieu premier servi" (I serve God first), reflect their spirit and faith. Today, the clan remains active globally.
