The ancestors of the MacInnes clan were likely among the earliest inhabitants of Dalriada, possibly linked to the Siol Gillebride, the first settlers from Morven and Ardnamurchan. According to tradition, the clan was promised favor from the Lord of the Isles. A notable figure from the MacInnes clan served as the Constable of Kinlochaline Castle, which they controlled until it was burned by Coll Kitto in 1648. This rich heritage adds depth to the vibrant design of the tartan.
