Clan Ged is one of the Scottish clans. The clan currently does not have a recognized chief in the eyes of Lord Lyon King of Arms and is considered to be an armigerous clan. Without a chief recognized by the Lord Lyon King of Arms, the clan is not recognized according to Scots Law. In Scotland Ged and Geddes are the names of families. Ged and Geddes may come from the place name Geddes from Narin. The earliest date for which it is known is 1840. The Geddes Tartan has a white stripe embroidered over the red fabric.
