The castle, believed to have been built by the MacLachlan family in the 15th century, served as their stronghold. During the Jacobite Rebellion of 1745, the clan's chief supported Bonnie Prince Charlie but tragically died at the Battle of Culloden, leaving the castle vulnerable. Despite this setback, Clan MacLachlan endured, with their green and blue tartan symbolizing their lasting legacy and rich ties to Scottish history.
