MacLachlan Old Tartan

Historical Context

Clan MacLachlan is one of the ancient Scottish clans, historically seated in Old Castle Lachlan, located in Argyll and Bute beside Loch Fyne. The MacLachlan family is believed to have built this castle in the 15th century. In 1745, the Clan MacLachlan Chief supported Bonnie Prince Charlie's army during the Jacobite Rebellion, notably at the Battle of Culloden. Tragically, the Chief lost his life in this battle, leaving the castle vulnerable. The MacLachlan tartan represents a rich tapestry of Scottish heritage, weaving together stories of bravery and loyalty.
